HTC Desire Hard Reset
The HTC Desire allows you to highly customize and tweak it any way you want. It is one of the best smartphones available in the market, but does have some limits.
When you are done with the customization and want to return it to its factory settings again, you need to know step by step instructions of how the hard reset works.
All data will be deleted from the phone after the hard reset, therefore being very important for you to back up necessary data. Data stored on the microSD card will not be deleted, but backing up all necessary things is suggested, to stay on the safer side.
Step by Step Process
- Turn the power off. If your HTC Desire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
- Hold the Volume Down button
- Press and release the Power button
- You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
- Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
- Press and release the Power button
- Confirm your decision by simply pressing the Volume Up button for YES and Volume Down button for NO
All data including third-party applications will be deleted from the HTC Desire after you select YES. Once the cleaning is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state allowing to use the phone just like when you purchased it.
